Bathroom Wall Tiles

Bathroom wall tiles and panels come in many different sizes and are usually made of ceramic or porcelain materials.

A wall will make a statement for any room and this holds true for the bathroom.  Many people will paint the walls, use textures, or even apply wallpaper, but there is also the use of bathroom wall tiles to finish the job.  Wall tiles are perfect for adding mosaics, backsplashes, or even just to finish the tiling in your shower area.

You can find bathroom wall tiles in a variety of shapes, sizes, and especially color and patterns.  Most bathroom wall tiles are made of ceramic, but you can find them in limestone, granite, marble, etc.  These days there are manufacturers that are creating metal bathroom tiles that have a metallic finish and buffing pattern that add a very modern feel.  Ceramic is the most affordable bathroom wall tile and usually one of the more durable.  If you plan to make a mosaic pattern with your bathroom tiles, look for smaller and more uniform shapes.  There are some companies that have pre-made mosaics that you purchase whole and piece together like a puzzle on your wall.  You can get anything from a garden scene to religious murals.  Always pre-measure your wall that you plan to do a pre-made mural on to ensure you have the space for it to fit.  These are not the types of tiles you can take to your local Home Depot and have shaved down to fit, unless you do not mind ruining the artwork.  You can create murals out of solid colors or patterns, or draw an image from different colored tiles as well.

Bathroom wall tiles will typically range anywhere from $0.99 per square foot to over $450.00 for a pre-made mural set.  If you plan to use your tiles in the shower area, try to purchase ceramic or glass tiles.  Marble and granite tend to get extremely slippery when wet and can cause a safety hazard for most users.    Never use metal tiles in your shower area because they will rust out after a few months or years of use.  Always keep in mind your budget when it comes to decorating with bathroom wall tiles.  Though they may seem cheap, you can actually still spend a hefty price tag on the cheapest model.  Know your color pattern and overall theme of your bathroom as well and try to do some in store shopping to see what manufacturers carry specific color patterns.

You can find bathroom wall tiles both online and in-store.  If you are purchasing online you can visit retailers such as eBay, Amazon, Overstock, and Bathroom Tile Direct.  For in-store shopping, you can visit retailers such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowes, and ACE Hardware Super Store.  Many stores like Home Depot and Lowes can also provide you tips for installing your own bathroom wall tiles if you are going to make this a DIY project.  If you plan to hire another company to do the tile work for you, sometimes you can get a better rate if they purchase the tiles themselves, while others find it cheaper to purchase them separately and only pay for the labor.
